Overview
Horizon Central is an embodied discovery space for Meta’s Horizon Worlds.
Responsibilities
I joined the Lost Recipes team for the final seven weeks of production and QA to finish the writing and VO direction for the game. In that role I:
Wrote voice lines for the three ghost characters that incorporated instructions, historical information, and humor.
Researched food history in Ancient Greece, Ancient China, and Ancient Maya to verify existing VO and find engaging new information to add for players.
Directed our voice actor for the Ancient Maya levels, from developing the character to specific line delivery.
Wrote 500+ text lines that could be displayed at the end of each level to give the player feedback on what they could do better next time they play. All lines were in-character responses to specific mistakes made in the level.
Created a spreadsheet to track the level feedback lines that documented what was being checked in code to determine if each line would display, where each line was implemented in engine, and the development status of each line. This document proved invaluable not only to the designers implementing the lines, but also to our QA team for testing.
